Honeymoons, anniversary celebrations, and destination weddings remain a large part of my business so I have a lot of experience with planning these special vacations. I enjoy customizing the itinerary to make it special for the two of you ~ or for your entire wedding party.

While tropical destinations are the quintessential romance destination, most of my clients choose to go to less "traditional" destinations such as Spain, France, Italy, Costa Rica or Thailand. There may be some relaxation and pampering time but the main focus is the culture, food (and drinks) and sights - but not on a hectic schedule. You want to be able to have time at leisure to fully take advantage of your precious time together.

To make your experience extra special, I recommend choosing hotels with upgraded rooms and/or with special views. Imagine waking up to a view of the Mediterranean sea and then relaxing after a long day of sightseeing with a glass of sparkling wine in your in-room Jacuzzi. Now I have your attention, right?!

Destination weddings also remain popular. Many couples opt to do them at an all-inclusive in Mexico or the Caribbean as they can be budget-friendly way to have a wedding overseas. Most all-inclusive resorts have wedding planners on-site that will assist with choosing the wedding location, decor and group activities. This is a great way to celebrate with your closest family and friends over a long weekend.

However, a growing trend is to have a wedding at a chateau, villa or castle in Europe. Here you can rent the whole property just for your family and friends. The wedding and reception can be held on the grounds in a beautiful garden or with a vineyard as the backdrop. You'd have full-service staff including a private chef, and activities such as wine tastings and cooking classes can be held on-site or nearby. For those with the budget, this can be an extra special way to celebrate your wedding. Or milestone anniversary!
